Behind the Logo

BTS

What's behind my logo?

My logo was created by a good friend and colleague - Jeremy Tufts with Southern Cross Creative (https://www.southerncrosspictures.com/),

The skull at the top with the smoke is part of a bigger concept in the logo. The concept is the hourglass- which is a visual concept of the verse James 4.14 which says, “... What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes”. We know the amount of sand in the bottom of the hourglass (with the sand being my birthdate/initials), but we don’t know the top part of the equation. To us, it’s just smoke with the end result being the death of our body. However, despite the fact that we have a knowledge of the frailty of life, we live in the victory that Christ has defeated death. (Yeah, it's deep and Jeremy took a bunch of verbal vomit and put it into a visually aesthetic piece).

This verse and this logo is a challenge to make the most of the opportunities here and to appreciate the moments with others. To love our neighbors and live life to the fullest. We want to make lasting work.

The feeling of the font is vintage. lasting. soul food. rebel. swagger.

It goes back to our blue-collar roots. It gives a nod to how we solve problems and describes the industries we cater to. It's our promise to think outside the box and color outside the lines. We'll weather the storm with you.
